The Caritas Federation of the Diocese of Timisoara started its activity in 1993 and since then has been carrying out its daily work under the slogan “We are here for all people!”

They improve the quality of life through both emergency and long-term services. During their 26 years of operation, they have served approximately 30,000 people in need.

The values they believe in: compassion, hope, equal rights, justice, solidarity, partnership, responsibility.

Elderly people are one of the main target groups addressed through three specific types of services: home care, socio-medical care and social canteens.

Home care intervention is carried out in 6 centres in Timis county (Timisoara, Buziaș) and Caras-Severin (Anina, Caras-Severin, Oțelu Roșu and Reșița). The services are aimed at people with chronic conditions, a certain level of dependency and limited mobility.

They invested in the development of two socio-medical care centres: St. Francis House and St. John House in Bacova, Timiș County.

Through the three social canteens in Timișoara, Nădrag and Peciu Nou they prepare 91,000 meals for the elderly every year.
