SeniorsNET Federation – talks with MEP Dragoș Pîslaru

SenioriNET Vice President Aurelia Pasăre and advocacy expert Anemari Nițu participated today in an online meeting with Mr. Dragos Pîslaru, Member of the European Parliament for USR PLUS, member of the Renew Europe group of MEPs, Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL).

European partners were also present – Ms Shannon Pfohman, Advocacy Director at Caritas Europa and Mr Peter Verhaeghe Policy and Advocacy Officer.

The meeting aimed to discuss issues concerning older people in Romania, alignment with existing European standards and policy solutions and assumptions.

MEP Dragoș Pîslaru showed his full support both for the issue of ageing and for concrete steps towards active ageing: “Funding services for the elderly should be seen not as an expense but as an investment”.
