Consultations on the White Charter in Oradea
Bihor County Prefect’s Institution, hosted by Mr. Emilian Pavel, the Sub-Prefect of Bihor County, in the framework of the Advisory Committee on Elderly People, hosted the SenioriNET Federation, today, October 14, at the launch for debate of the White Charter on the Rights of Elderly in Romania.
Through the White Charter, SenioriNET Federation proposes the respect of some basic rights, as a large number of elderly people live in very difficult conditions, without being able to fully cover their food, medicine or monthly utilities from their pension amount.
The relationship between the elderly and state institutions is vital in today’s society. Some institutions have as their activities: analysis of the lives of pensioners, analysis of pensions and the health system.
In this context, technology can facilitate the relationship between the two entities, providing useful channels of communication in identifying problems faced by the elderly.
The White Charter on the Rights of the Elderly remains under debate and aims to collect 10,000 signatures of support at national level over the next year.
