The European Commission has presented the European strategy on care services, which aims to ensure quality and affordable care services across the European Union and to improve the situation for both care recipients and carers, professionally or informally.
The strategy is accompanied by two recommendations to Member States on the review of the Barcelona targets on early learning and care and on access to high quality and affordable long-term care services.
