ADAM SLATINA TIMIȘ as representative of SenioriNET at the 8th Belgium-Romania Forum
The 8th Belgium-Romania Forum took place in Geel, Belgium and was hosted by Thomas More College from 23 to 25 March 2022. Discussions focused on the state of decentralised cooperation between both countries after more than 30 years of collaboration.
The event aimed to frame the cooperation between Belgium and Romania, and the general theme chosen for discussion was “Resilience” – the ability to bounce back from adversity and learn positive lessons for the future, also in view of the pandemic situation.
Ioan Suru, coordinator of ADAM Slatina Timis gave a speech about the project “Federation SenioriNET – stronger NGOs to support the elderly in Romania!”, the benefits of membership, objectives to be achieved according to the operational plan and the strategic planning process, the calendar of activities to be undertaken.
The Forum focused on the role of decentralised local action groups in implementing and delivering European and national priorities. The UN Sustainable Development Goals and the EU’s European Long Term Plan 2021-2027 and NextGenerationEU (known as the Multiannual Financial Framework – MFF) constitute the basis for concrete resilience projects between Romania and Belgium.
