A new working meeting to draft the White Charter on the Rights of the Elderly in Romania

The team responsible for developing this advocacy tool met again online on 3 May. This time, discussions focused on the content and methodology of the document.

What do we want, concretely, with this approach?

  • set strategic guidelines on the rights of the elderly;
  • encourage debate on specific issues relating to the rights of the elderly;
  • to increase the visibility of the general situation of the elderly in Romania;
  • to highlight the specific needs and characteristics of older people in Romania and of support organisations for older people;
  • to identify recommendations for their integration into public policy with reference to the elderly in Romania.

At this stage, we are also working on a questionnaire that will be administered to approximately 8,300 older people, beneficiaries of social service programmes and carers with whom SenioriNET member organisations work.

Stay tuned for updates!
