Charity appeal to Catholic communities in the diaspora

The Caritas Iasi Diocesan Centre Association initiates this year again the fundraising campaign “Turn your eyes towards home!” in order to keep present and alive among the faithful, the duty to be with those left alone at home.

In these trying times when the pandemic has taken its toll on our lives, it is the sick and isolated elderly who are most affected.

Caritas Iasi appeals to the understanding and goodwill of Catholic communities in the diaspora to offer support to those in need, on the occasion of the heartfelt campaign “Turn your eyes towards home!” which runs from 1 December 2021 to 31 January 2022.

The “Home Care Services”programme developed by the Caritas Iasi Diocesan Centre Association is part of one national programme carried out by Caritas Romania Confederation. This programme is made up of a network of nine regional home care centres, centres serving more than 30 localities, including: Pârgărești, Faraoani and Valea Mare – Bacau county; Roman, Săbăoani, Tămășeni and Sagna – Neamt county; Iași, Tansa, Butea, Iugani, Hălăucești and Oțeleni – Iași county; Suceava and Preutești – Suceava county, Huși, Berezeni and Dodești – Vaslui county. Employees and volunteers support over 1200 beneficiaries in these communities every year.

The aim of the “Home Care Services”programme is to provide social and health care services at home to elderly people who, due to their condition, are isolated in bed or at home.
