“Our seniors are not only feeling lonely, but they would like to continue to be useful and visible to society, and for this they need our support. Loneliness means depression and deterioration of physical health, which often leads to premature death for elders. The main difficulty we face is reaching out to them and overcoming barriers related to recognising the impact of loneliness in their lives. Those who have given us so much should not have to suffer being ignored by society. Our mission is to reach out to all elderly in need and give them back the joy of living” (Cătălin Dinu, Executive Director).
Since 2015, Nciodata singur has taken on the mission of “being together” for the seniors. 250 elderly people living alone and over 600 in care homes are supported by over 250 volunteers from Bucharest, Brăila, Ploiești, Pitești, Constanța, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, Râmnicu Vâlcea and Târgoviște.
