Debate with the elderly on civic awareness

This week, Four Change Association, in partnership with Never Alone – Friends of the Elderly, organised a debate on “Civic Awareness – what does it mean and how can it help us live better lives in our communities?”

The 15 participating seniors together with experts from the 2 organisations discussed:

  • – the notion of civic awareness;
  • – the social actors who should be involved in developing civic awareness;
  • – what we, as ordinary citizens, can do for more friendly communities;
  • – mechanisms we can use in various civic engagement actions.

At the same time, the elderly learned about the SenioriNet Federation’s initiative to develop a White Charter on the Rights of the Elderly in Romania – the rights mentioned in the document and the need for the Charter.

The meeting took place within the project “SenioriNET Federation – stronger NGOs to support the elderly in Romania!”
